Updated: Sep 15, 2020

Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) is when your fast heartbeat starts in the upper, or supraventricular, chambers of the heart. It’s also known as supraventricular tachycardia. PSVT is most common in younger people, especially women." (WebMD). Certain factors, such as alcohol consumption or smoking, can increase the likelihood of developing this condition. (University of Maryland Medical Center). Symptoms of PSVT can last several minutes or hours and include:
Palpitations, a sensation that you can feel your heart beating rapidly or erratically
Anxiety
Chest tightness
Rapid pulse
Shortness of breath
Dizziness
